Featured Projects
OBS Studio Web-View Display System
Developed a dynamic web content display system using OBS Studio with custom Python scripts that accept URLs and refresh commands. Integrated with Ross Video render nodes via NDI streaming and created a user-friendly dashboard for operators to easily change and refresh websites displayed on the video cube.
Made previously 'impossible' feature work in minimal time, dramatically reducing complexity and saving significant time for all operators during live events.
Comprehensive Server Monitoring Infrastructure
Built a complete monitoring system using data collectors feeding into InfluxDB alongside Prometheus and Grafana to track CPU/RAM/disk usage and temperature data across all server rooms in the arena. Addresses critical cooling issues with improperly designed server rooms.
Collected 2+ years of temperature data enabling warranty claims and providing evidence for complaints against building contractors for device damage due to overheating.
Real-time Hockey Player Tracking Integration
Integrated Kinexon BLE triangulation system with GrandMA3 lighting console, developing optimal low-latency solution to capture and process raw sensor data. Created web visualization and PosiStageNet integration for real-time player tracking with moving lights.
Would have saved approximately 5k per event per moving light used for person tracking by eliminating need for mobile + manned moving light rentals.
Automated Logo Management System
Created comprehensive logo management system by web scraping all Swiss ice hockey league logos, automatically processing and organizing them. Built webapp interface allowing timekeepers to instantly change team logos on cube/jumbotron during events.
Enabled instant logo changes during hectic events, saving significant time for operators. System was planned for 10k internal sale to youth organization.
Reliable Scoreboard Backup System
Developed custom TCP data parser reading from Bodet scorepad device to create backup scoreboard display. Built Python webapp showing game time and period data, integrated with Samsung MagicInfo signage using Server-Sent Events for real-time updates.
Massively improved reliability over video streaming, reduced network bandwidth requirements, and ensured teams always know ice time remaining.
DMX Lighting Control Dashboard
Created web-based brightness adjustment system for auditorium moving lights controlled by DMX recorder. Reverse-engineered network requests to dynamically update scene brightness values through custom Python interface.
Enabled easy brightness adjustments for corporate customers in 250-300 person auditorium, improving event customization capabilities.
Enterprise Device Monitoring Solution
Implemented Zabbix monitoring solution to detect device outages across arena infrastructure. Integrated Samsung signage screens, Q-SYS DSP units, Crestron devices, and all video/audio servers with custom monitoring and alerting.
First comprehensive monitoring system for arena devices, designed to prevent downtime and provide early alerts before events start.
